Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a tenant Tumise Abraham who allegedly raped his landlady Bukola Olanrewaju to death.
The command also confirmed the arrest of two out four young boys who gang raped a teenager in Omuo Ekiti.
Parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of police, Amba Asuquo said the suspect was arrested in Akure, Ondo state where he was hiding after commiting the crime through information from his family members.
The two other suspected rapists were said to have gang raped a teenager in Omuo Ekiti.
The victim was said to have been invited into the room by her boyfriend but the suspects forcefully chased out the boyfriend and gang raped the young girl.
Speaking with newsmen, the tenant Tumise Abraham confessed to have killed the woman but denied raping her.
He said the deceased called him unprintable names and mocked him as a stammerer when he approached her to retrieve the balance of his rent with the decision to move out of the house.
According to him, the woman insulted him and engaged him in hot argument which degenerated into a fight.
The suspect said the woman picked a stick to hit him but he over powered her and hit her back with the stick which led to her death.
He said it was in the process of the fight that she tore her pant, claiming that he did not rape her.
Other two suspects arrested from Omuo for similar offence confessed to have also committed the crime.
