21 persons were killed and more than 70 civilians injured as multiple bombers struck Konduga local government area of Borno State on Friday.
This came few days after the military claimed to have completely defeated the Boko Haram insurgency.
The Boko haram bombers attacked a crowded Fish Market (Kasuwan Kifi) in Sabon Gari area of Kinduga town at 9pm and detonated IEDs, killing 18 civilians, mostly children and injuring 70 people.
Three suicide bombers also died during the attack.
“It happened at Tashan Kifi, the female bombers staged themselves in three different locations and detonated their IEDs randomly, killing more than 20 people mostly children and women.
“We have evacuated 70 people with serious injuries to Maiduguri but we left many with light injuries at Konduga Specialist Hospital last night” a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force said.
Also police source confirmed the attacks .
