Black Sunday in Ozubulu, Anambra State: How drug money led to many worshippers’ death at Catholic church
During the 6am mass today, gunmen numbering about six invaded St Philip’s Catholic Church, Umuezekwe Ofufe Amakwa Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.

They were said to be hot on the pursuit of one Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, a.k.a. Ebube Chukwu Uzo n’Ozubulu, also called Bishop who is the benefactor of the church.
Sources revealed that Bishop that lives in South Africa singlehandedly built the church.
Armed heavily, and covering their faces in masks, they opened fire on the congregation, shooting sporadically and incessantly, killing scores of people, and injuring many others.
According to sources from Ozubulu, the killers were assassins, and were asking after the Ebube Chukwu Uzo of Ozubulu, a rich mogul who was said to have just returned from South Africa.
The assailants went to the Billionaires’ house, but were told that he was not around, after he left last night.

They were said to have asked after his Dad who was attending the 6am mass, and traced him to the church.
Multiple sources said the assailants didn’t know Bishop’s dad that they were after, but swore that they would keep shooting everyone, until they kill him, that there was no way they would kill fifty people without killing him.
As at now, sources claimed that about 37 deaths have been recorded, and that the said father of the targeted Bishop Ebube Chukwu Uzo was among the deceased while other sources the target only sustained gunshot injuries.
The death toll is on the increase as the injured and the dead bodies have been taken to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.
Meanwhile, Willie Obiano, the state governor has called for calm and he has also visited the scene of the attack to commiserate with the parishioners.
Governor Obiano condemned the attack and promised to ensure that the culprits are brought to justice. Garba Baba Umar, the Commissioner of police in the state, also confirmed the attack.
