THE Defence Headquarters, has dismissed rumours making the rounds that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin and the Chief of Naval State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas have been removed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

It asked people to discountenance the rumours, even as it advised people to try to get their information from the appropriate top echelon of the Armed Forces before releasing such information.

Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, Director of Information, Defence Headquarters, dismissed the rumour in a telephone interview with Vanguard some minutes ago.

The Defence Headquarters’ spokesman, who expressed disappointment that the conventional media carried the false report like the social media, wondered where the false story emanated from.
