2027: Stop Deceiving Yourselves, Tinubu Can’t Campaign – Rufai Oseni

Arise Television’s Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has argued that President Bola Tinubu lacks the capacity to conduct an extensive nationwide campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Oseni dismissed claims by some All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters that Tinubu’s reported plan to campaign in only 12 states was a strategic decision, insisting that the limited schedule reflected his inability to campaign more widely.

The broadcaster made the remarks on Friday while discussing political developments ahead of the 2027 general election.

He recalled that Tinubu travelled across several states during the 2023 election campaign, including political engagements when he was not the presidential candidate.

Oseni also cited former President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign strategy, noting that Buhari sometimes visited two states in one day to complete his campaign within 18 days.

He argued that describing Tinubu’s reported limited campaign schedule as a strategy amounted to self-deception among his supporters.

Oseni added that Nigeria’s tendency towards what he described as personal and collective deception was one of the reasons the country continued to struggle with problems that had persisted for years.

He maintained that issues discussed during the 2015 election period remained relevant, arguing that the country had made insufficient progress in addressing them.
