A United States-based policy advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to support the release of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records relating to allegations of heroin trafficking reportedly linked to him.
The firm made the demand in a statement published on its verified X account on Thursday, questioning Tinubu’s commitment to fighting drug trafficking.
It described the President’s recent anti-drug advocacy as a publicity effort unless he supported the disclosure of the records.
The firm also disclosed that its principal, Dr Von Batten, met with Republican and Democratic congressional staff members on Wednesday to discuss several issues, including the allegations involving Tinubu.
In its statement, the firm urged Tinubu to publicly call on the FBI to release all records concerning the alleged heroin trafficking links.
It also challenged the President to withdraw his petition before a US court opposing the disclosure of the records.
The allegations cited by the firm remain allegations, and the statement provided no further details about the status of the court proceedings.
