‘I Chased Him Out of PDP’ – Wike Narrates How He Dealt With Zamfara Governor

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal over his remarks referring to him as that guy, claiming that he previously forced the governor out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike made the comments during a media parley on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, where he recalled his political dealings with Lawal when both were associated with the PDP.

The minister claimed that Lawal, despite his financial resources, could not withstand the political pressure he faced from him and eventually left the opposition party.

Wike further alleged that Lawal had access to substantial funds, including money he claimed the governor was keeping on behalf of another person. He said Lawal eventually defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a decision that worked in the governor’s favour.

The FCT minister also pointed to what he described as a contradiction in Lawal’s political position, recalling that the governor had previously accused him of working to weaken the PDP for the benefit of the APC.

Wike argued that Lawal’s subsequent defection to the ruling party conflicted with those earlier accusations, using the development to defend his own political actions and challenge the governor’s criticism.
