Gunmen Thursday killed at least 16 people in an attack on Marke Village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara Atate.

Residents said the gunmen arrived on motorbikes, firing at them. They took away cows and other domestic animals before fleeing into the forest.

A resident who spoke to our correspondent yesterday evening said some of the victims were beheaded, while some had their stomaches cut open and some organs removed.
