Senator Adams Oshiomhole has said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is supporting President Bola Tinubu rather than the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a political party.

Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District, made the clarification during an interview with TVC on Tuesday.

His comments followed the disagreement between Wike and some APC governors after the FCT Minister criticised some members of the party’s governing structure, describing them as politically inactive.
Oshiomhole, a former Edo State governor, explained that Wike is not an APC member but has repeatedly stated his support for Tinubu.

According to the senator, the APC governors and the FCT Minister may have differences on party-related matters, but both sides support Tinubu’s bid for another term.
He said the two groups were therefore working towards the same political objective despite their disagreements.
Oshiomhole added that he had not heard either side indicate opposition to Tinubu’s planned re-election.
He also noted that Wike had consistently maintained that he was not a member of the APC while expressing support for the President.
The senator’s comments come amid political disagreements involving Wike and some APC governors as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to develop.
