The accusation was contained in a statement issued by the Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare.

The APC described Makinde’s presidential ambition as a political charade and questioned his suitability to lead Nigeria.

The party also faulted his decision to contest under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), which it described as lacking the political structure required to win the presidency.

According to the Oyo APC, Makinde does not have the experience, personal qualities and political strategy needed to become Nigeria’s president in 2027.

The party further claimed that the governor’s presidential project was unlikely to succeed, despite his efforts to build support for the contest.

The APC said it was monitoring Makinde’s political activities as he pursues his presidential ambition.

It warned that the governor would be required to account for any Oyo State resources allegedly used to support his campaign after the end of his tenure.

The party maintained that public funds should not be deployed to finance an individual’s political ambition.

It added that anyone found to have misused state resources for the project would be held responsible.
