‘I’ve Evidence Tinubu is 90 Years Old, I Can Prove it in Court’ – Atiku

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election, Atiku Abubakar, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is 90 years old.

Atiku made the allegation during an interview with the BBC published on Friday, saying he was prepared to present evidence to support his claim if the matter came before a court.

The former Vice President also defended his decision to continue seeking the presidency, saying his opposition to military rule and previous disqualifications had contributed to his repeated attempts to lead the country.

Atiku said he had the constitutional right to contest the presidency and maintained that his experience, competence and commitment to Nigeria made him qualified to serve.

He also expressed concerns about insecurity in the country, blaming the situation on what he described as failures in government, particularly in the areas of defence and policing.

The ADC candidate said he would prioritise security if elected president, promising to tackle the country’s insecurity challenges within his first year in office.

Explaining why he remains interested in the presidency, Atiku questioned why Nigerians should not consider him when he believes he is physically capable of serving.

He said his age and health compared favourably with those of the incumbent, while claiming that Tinubu was much older than officially stated.

“You have a President who is 90 years old now and sick and I am healthy and strong. So why won’t I make myself available to serve my country?” Atiku said.

He added that he had evidence supporting his claim about Tinubu’s age and would produce it in court if necessary.
