The family of the late Miss Mary Habila, the nurse who died at the residence of the Minister of Works, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), requesting the immediate release of her body for burial.

Her father, Tanko Habila, accompanied by his wife, other relatives and the family’s legal representatives, submitted the petition at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

After filing the petition, the family addressed journalists, calling on the police authorities to allow them to bury their daughter.

Tanko Habila expressed disappointment that nearly two weeks after Mary’s death, the Ebonyi State Police Command had yet to release her remains to the family.
He stated that the family was not seeking an autopsy and only wanted permission to take possession of the body for burial.
According to him, death can occur unexpectedly, and the family’s only request is for the authorities to release Mary’s remains so she can be laid to rest.
