The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that another building collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State.

The agency said its officials immediately moved to the reported location after the information spread online, but no sign of any fresh building collapse was discovered after a full check of the area.
The clarification was issued by the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.
According to the agency, the search and assessment carried out by emergency teams confirmed that the viral claim was false.
It explained that no structure had collapsed at the said location, despite the wide attention the report gained on social media.

LASEMA also warned that spreading false emergency information can cause serious disruption to rescue efforts.
It noted that such reports often pull emergency teams away from real incidents where people may need urgent help, making response slower and less effective.
The agency encouraged residents to always confirm emergency-related information before sharing it online and to use official channels when reporting incidents.
It added that its teams remain committed to quick and coordinated responses to genuine emergencies under the leadership of Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The clarification comes shortly after a recent two-storey building collapse at Alakija Bus Stop in Satellite Town, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, which led to the death of nine people and left 27 others injured.
The earlier incident triggered a major rescue operation that lasted two days before all trapped victims were recovered from the rubble.
