Police said the case is being treated as suspected culpable homicide.
The incident was reported on June 25, although investigators said the attack happened on June 18.
Police alleged that Abdullahi Ishaka and two women confronted the 30-year-old teacher after she disciplined a pupil, leaving her with serious injuries.
Maryam was first taken to a hospital in Ugbamaka before she was moved to Iko-Ojo Hospital in Okpo for further treatment.
She later died from her injuries, prompting officers to visit the school and her home as part of the investigation.
Police said the suspects fled before officers arrived and are still being tracked.
The body will be taken to the General Hospital in Ankpa for an autopsy, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department after the suspects are arrested.
