PRP Rejects Kwankwaso Governorship Form Claim

The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has dismissed reports that the party sold 69 nomination forms in Kano to Rabiu Kwankwaso.

He described the allegation as false and said it did not reflect the party’s processes or records.

The claim was linked to a man who identified himself as a Kano PRP chairman and alleged that forms were purchased for all elective positions in the state.

Baba-Ahmed said the individual was not recognised by the party and had no authority to sell nomination forms or speak on its behalf.

According to him, all PRP nomination forms are issued from Abuja, not from state chapters.

He explained that candidates in Kano had already completed the process, participated in primaries and emerged as party candidates, with their names being prepared for submission to electoral authorities.

Baba-Ahmed also said Kwankwaso was not a member of the PRP and found the allegation surprising.

While confirming that discussions had previously taken place with Kwankwaso and Peter Obi about joining the party, he said both politicians eventually chose other paths.

He added that the PRP remains united and is preparing for future elections without any internal faction.
