A fresh internal crisis has emerged within the Federal Capital Territory chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over claims that Hon. John Gabaya may be imposed as a party candidate for AMAC and Bwari despite alleged violations of party rules.

Party stakeholders in the FCT allege that Gabaya is not listed in the official APC membership register for Igu Ward, which they say is required before any nomination can stand.

They argue that this raises doubts about his eligibility under both party guidelines and electoral laws.

The controversy has also deepened with claims that no primary election was conducted in AMAC and Bwari to produce a candidate.

Some members insist that there are attempts to present a result from a process that never took place, which they describe as unacceptable under the Electoral Act.

Reacting to the situation, an APC stakeholder in the FCT warned party leaders against what he called a forced imposition.

He said ignoring due process could damage the party’s credibility ahead of future elections and called for strict adherence to membership records and transparent primaries.
