Nigerians Have Survived Worse, We Will Overcome Insecurity – Akpabio
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the country’s security challenges, expressing confidence that the nation will overcome the difficulties confronting it.
Akpabio spoke during an inter-denominational church service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja as part of activities marking the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.
He said Nigeria has faced and survived several difficult periods in the past, including political instability and public health emergencies.
According to him, the country’s history of resilience shows that it can also overcome the current wave of insecurity affecting different parts of the nation.
He encouraged citizens to remain united and support efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability.
The Senate President also called for continued faith in the country’s democratic journey, noting that national progress depends on cooperation among citizens, leaders and institutions working towards a safer and stronger Nigeria.
