Kwara Couple Abducted in Midnight Raid By Bandits
Bandits have abducted a married couple in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, while soldiers rescued victims from a separate kidnapping attack in Kogi State during coordinated operations across both states.
The Kwara incident happened around midnight near the Provost Lodge area when armed men stormed a home and took the couple away.
Residents said the attackers moved through the community without resistance and disappeared into nearby forests before help arrived.
In Kogi State, troops of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army under the 2 Division responded to a distress call in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area.
Their quick action led to the rescue of kidnapped victims after a raid by armed criminals in the area.
Security sources said the rescued victims included a woman and her infant child, while others were still being tracked.
The army said search and rescue efforts continue, with operations expanded to recover those still missing and apprehend the attackers.
