Bandits Kills Over 16 In Katsina Attack
At least 16 people are feared dead after armed bandits attacked Kiliya community near Bagagadi in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident reportedly happened shortly after Friday Juma’at prayers when residents were relaxing and sharing moments of Sallah celebrations.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers arrived on motorcycles and opened fire on villagers, forcing people to run for safety.
Some residents were reportedly chased into houses while others were shot on sight, creating panic across the community.
Survivors said several victims, including relatives of residents, were later found lifeless after the shooting stopped.
Others are still missing, while many displaced persons have fled to nearby villages such as Bagagadi and Radda for safety.
Locals believe the attack may be linked to a reprisal after suspected bandits were killed by villagers days earlier.
Meanwhile, police authorities in Katsina said they were yet to receive full details of the incident but would respond once confirmed.
