President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to uphold peace, tolerance and unity as Muslims across the country mark Eid-el-Kabir.

He made the call after joining worshippers for Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos on Wednesday.

The President said Nigerians must reject division, hate and actions that weaken national unity.

He was accompanied by top officials including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and other senior government figures during the prayers.
Tinubu said Eid-el-Kabir teaches obedience, sacrifice and love for humanity, stressing that citizens should reflect these values in their daily lives.
He also warned that banditry and violent acts have no place in religion or society.
The Grand Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulaimon Abou-Nolla, also preached unity and urged Muslims to remain faithful and peaceful.
He prayed for the President and called for continued progress and stability in the country.
