NDC Releases 2027 Primary Timetable

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has fixed N60m for aspirants seeking its presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 election.

The party released its primary election timetable on Tuesday through its National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, in Abuja.

The party said screening for state assembly aspirants would hold in different states, while National Assembly and presidential aspirants would be screened at the national headquarters in Abuja.
Aspirants are also expected to submit relevant documents and sign undertakings in line with the party’s code of conduct.

According to the timetable, completed nomination forms must be returned on or before May 25, while appeals from the screening exercise will be handled between May 25 and 26.
Primary elections for different offices are scheduled for May 27 and 28, with the presidential primary fixed for May 29 in Abuja.
The NDC also announced that it would use an open secret ballot system during the primaries.
Governorship forms were pegged at N30m, Senate forms at N8m, House of Representatives forms at N6m, and state assembly forms at N2.5m.
Female aspirants and persons living with disabilities will enjoy reduced fees across all categories.
