The Obidient Movement has rejected the activities of a group claiming to operate under a similar name, insisting there is no division within the movement loyal to Peter Obi.

A faction identifying itself as the “Obedient Movement” had earlier announced the removal of Obi and some other leaders from their positions, sparking confusion among supporters.

Reacting on Thursday, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, said the organisation recognises no parallel structure or alternative leadership outside its officially recognised framework aligned with Obi.

Tanko urged supporters, media organisations, Nigerians at home and abroad, and other stakeholders to disregard any group operating under “deceptively similar identities,” saying such groups do not represent the movement or its values.

According to him, the Obidient Movement remains committed to its founding ideals of accountability, justice and the pursuit of a “New Nigeria.”

He added that attempts to create confusion or exploit the movement’s popularity for personal interests would not distract members from their goals and ongoing political engagement across the country.

Tanko also advised supporters to rely only on official communication channels linked to the recognised leadership of the movement.
