Court Sets Date In Sowore ‘Insult To Tinubu’ Case
A Federal High Court Abuja has fixed May 8, 2026, to rule on a no-case submission filed by Omoyele Sowore in a criminal case linked to remarks about Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The decision was announced on Monday.
The case was brought by the Department of State Services, which is prosecuting the matter.
Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, is asking the court to dismiss the charges against him.
Presiding judge Mohammed Umar set the ruling date after both sides presented their final written arguments.
The submission was originally filed on April 21 as part of the defence strategy.
The court is now expected to decide whether Sowore has a case to answer or if the charges should be struck out. The ruling will determine the next step in the legal proceedings.
