Tinubu Sacks NMDPRA CEO
Bola Tinubu has removed Saidu Mohammed as head of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority and named Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as his replacement.
The change was announced on Tuesday.
The decision was disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed both the removal and the new nomination.
The leadership switch affects one of the key agencies in Nigeria’s oil sector.
Mohammed’s exit brings an end to his time in charge of the regulatory body, while Umar is set to take over pending necessary processes.
The agency oversees activities in the midstream and downstream segments of the petroleum industry.
The move signals another adjustment in the administration’s oversight of the energy sector as it continues to reshape leadership across major institutions.
