Wike Backed PDP Sets New Nomination Fees
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by Nyesom Wike has fixed its presidential form at ₦51 million and governorship form at ₦21 million ahead of the 2027 elections.
The timetable was released by Umar Bature, outlining key dates for aspirants.
The sale of forms will run from April 27 to May 4, with submission closing on May 9. Fees includ
e ₦1 million for expression of interest across all positions, while nomination costs vary. Presidential aspirants will pay ₦50 million, while governorship hopefuls are to pay ₦20 million.
Screening for State Assembly, National Assembly, and governorship aspirants is set for May 11, while presidential screening will take place on May 12.
The presidential primary is scheduled for May 18, with other primaries following through late May.
The move comes amid an ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP, with rival factions led by figures including Kabiru Turaki and Abdulrahman Mohammed.
Legal battles and internal divisions continue to shape the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
