Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State have adopted Solomon Adeola as their governorship candidate for 2027.

The decision was reached at a caucus meeting in Abeokuta attended by Governor Dapo Abiodun and former governors Olusegun Osoba, Ibikunle Amosun, and Gbenga Daniel.

Members present backed the decision and called on other aspirants to support the consensus arrangement.
Adeola accepted the nomination and promised to sustain peace, unity, and development in the state.
He assured party leaders and supporters that he would build on existing progress and keep the party together.
Following the decision, Iyabo Obasanjo stepped down from the race and pledged support for Adeola.
The party said the consensus move would help avoid internal conflict as preparations for 2027 gather pace.
