US Enforces Visa Ban On Nigerian Violators

The United States has begun enforcing visa restrictions on individuals accused of violating religious freedom in Nigeria.

The move was confirmed by Mark Walker, who said the policy is already in effect.

Walker explained that those linked to religious persecution would face stricter scrutiny and be denied entry into the US.

He added that the measure is aimed at preventing perpetrators from accessing the country.

The policy was earlier announced by Marco Rubio in December, targeting individuals or groups involved in directing, funding, or carrying out violations of religious freedom.

The decision follows growing concern among US lawmakers.

Chris Smith had introduced a resolution calling for sanctions, naming groups such as Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.

There were also proposals in February suggesting sanctions against Rabiu Kwankwaso over alleged involvement in religious rights violations.
