Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged residents to remain calm and ignore rising political tension, assuring that the state will stay peaceful in 2026.

He gave the message during the New Year crossover service held at the Chapel of Everlasting Grace inside Government House, Port Harcourt.
Speaking to worshippers, the governor reflected on the past two years of his administration, describing the period as challenging and turbulent. He said internal issues slowed development but did not overwhelm the state, noting that Rivers survived through unity, restraint, and faith.
