AAC Candidate Ifemeludike Says She’s A Winner Despite Anambra Election Results

African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, Chioma Ifemeludike, has reacted to the outcome of the Anambra State governorship election, declaring herself a “winner” despite the official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a post shared on her verified social media page, the filmmaker and activist wrote, “Integrity stands firm and higher than political deception. I’m a winner,” suggesting her message was a stand against electoral malpractice and political desperation.

Ifemeludike, one of the few female candidates in the race, has been outspoken about transparency, women’s inclusion, and value-based politics. Her message appeared to question the credibility of the electoral process, which some observers described as flawed by vote-buying and intimidation.

INEC had declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the winner after sweeping all 21 local government areas of the state. Soludo secured 422,664 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes.

The election, which held in 5,720 polling units across the state, recorded reports of vote-buying, malfunctioning BVAS machines, and voter intimidation, with some opposition parties accusing APGA of using state resources to influence voters.
