The council raised the alarm following reports of a planned protest tagged #FreeNnamdiKanuNow, which it said Sowore was coordinating in connection with the U.S. Embassy’s recent security alert.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Umar Abubakar, the NYCN said although peaceful protests are a constitutional right, any action that could destabilise the country must be rejected.

The group accused Sowore of using activism as a tool for political gain and warned Nigerian youths not to be misled by those it described as “conflict entrepreneurs.”

“We must resist those who thrive on chaos and disunity,” the council said, adding that real leadership focuses on building the nation, not stirring unrest.

The NYCN described Sowore’s actions as reckless and unpatriotic, urging youths to pursue constructive dialogue rather than confrontation.

The council also praised President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Youth Development, and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for promoting youth inclusion and empowerment.

It called on young Nigerians to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to national development, saying true patriotism is about building, not breaking, the nation.
