The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what it described as a free, fair, and credible by-election in the Kaura Namoda South State Assembly Constituency.
APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris, made the commendation in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday shortly after INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Mahmud Isah, presented the certificate of return to the winner of the poll, Kamilu Sa’idu.
Idris congratulated Sa’idu on his emergence as lawmaker-elect, noting that the victory reflected the will of the people who chose a credible representative.
He also lauded election stakeholders and residents of the constituency for maintaining peace throughout the process.
“The APC wishes to commend INEC and the security agencies for their resilience and commitment, which ensured a peaceful, credible, free, and fair by-election,” Idris said.
He further appreciated party members, supporters, and the people of Zamfara for their solidarity and orderly conduct before, during, and after the election.
