The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has directed all candidates seeking admission for the 2025 academic session to re-upload their O’level results on its portal.

The Board explained that the directive affects candidates who had earlier uploaded their results before the official release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination. It noted that all previously uploaded records have been cleared from its system.

According to JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, the measure is to prevent discrepancies and ensure that only authentic WAEC results are used during admission processing. The Board stated that many candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination had uploaded incomplete records under “awaiting results,” which created errors.

To resolve this, every candidate must now upload their 2025 results again, whether or not they differ from those earlier submitted. The Board urged candidates to act quickly to avoid being excluded from the admission process.
Alongside the directive, JAMB released the admission deadlines for all tertiary institutions as approved at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education. Public universities are required to conclude admissions by October 31, private universities by November 30, while all other institutions, including polytechnics and colleges of education, must finish by December 31. The Board advised schools to complete and archive their admissions on time, even if they are not immediately ready to begin the new academic session.
The new order comes after controversy surrounding the 2025 UTME results. The exam was affected by a technical glitch that sparked widespread complaints and protests from candidates and parents. Many claimed their scores did not reflect their performance, leading to heavy criticism of the Board on social media.
JAMB later confirmed that 379,997 candidates across 157 centers, especially in Lagos and the South-East, were affected by a server update error linked to a service provider. The Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, acknowledged the fault and announced a resit for all affected candidates, which has since been conducted.
