The video, which circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter), drew condemnation from citizens who accused the officers of unprofessional conduct. The motorist was seen resisting the aggressive attempts of the policemen, leading to a heated confrontation that quickly spread online.

Following the backlash, the commissioner of police in Lagos, Olohundare Jimoh, ordered the restructuring of the squad involved. He directed that the officers face internal disciplinary measures to address what the command described as gross misconduct.
