Announcing the result at the collation centre in Ganye, Returning Officer Prof Tukur Ahmed said Jauro secured 15,923 votes, narrowly defeating the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, who polled 15,794 votes. The APC victory came with a slim margin of 129 votes after what has been described as one of the most competitive contests in the state.

The election, conducted across all 10 wards of the constituency, saw both parties record wins in different areas. Official results showed the APC leading in six wards while the PDP won four, underscoring the tight nature of the race.

Jauro, elder brother of the late lawmaker who previously represented the constituency, ran on the same APC platform and will now step into his brother’s shoes at the state assembly.

While the poll was largely peaceful, both parties traded accusations of irregularities during the process.

The outcome further strengthens APC’s standing in Adamawa politics, with the Ganye seat now firmly back in the party’s control.
