Ahead of the 2027 presidential race, founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jerry Gana, has said Peter Obi stands a strong chance of defeating any candidate from the North if he runs under the PDP platform.

Gana made the remark during a television interview on Wednesday night while responding to discussions around Obi’s political future. Though Obi ran for president in 2023 under the Labour Party, his recent comments and political meetings have sparked speculation that he may be planning a return to the PDP.
