Sanwo-Olu Hails APC Sweep in Lagos LG Poll

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed joy over the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) victory in Saturday’s local government elections, calling it a clear sign of public trust in the party’s leadership.

He said the result reflects the confidence Lagosians have in the APC’s efforts to drive development from the grassroots.

The APC won all 57 chairmanship seats and 375 out of 376 councillorship positions across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos. The election, closely watched across the state, reaffirmed the ruling party’s dominance at the local level.

Governor Sanwo-Olu released a statement on Sunday congratulating party leaders, supporters, and candidates on what he called a strong and unifying victory. He noted that the outcome belongs not just to the party but to all Lagos residents who voted to sustain progress in their communities.

He also extended congratulations to the elected chairmen and councillors, reminding them that the task ahead goes beyond celebration. According to him, the real measure of success lies in their ability to deliver effective and people-focused governance that touches lives across every ward.

Sanwo-Olu urged the new local government officials to serve with honesty, transparency, and a deep sense of duty to the people. He stressed that their victory must translate into real progress in education, health, infrastructure, and welfare, regardless of political differences in their communities.

The governor didn’t forget those who lost during the primaries. He praised their courage and loyalty, asking them to stay united with the party and continue contributing to its growth and success. He said every loyal member has a role to play in shaping the future of Lagos.

He assured residents that no community would be sidelined in the next phase of development, promising that the APC-led administration would continue to push for a more inclusive and prosperous Lagos for all.
