Court Bars Aliyu Bello From Acting As Nasarawa APC Chairman

A Nasarawa court has ordered Aliyu Bello to stop calling himself the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

This came after a legal move by a party member, Ibrahim Iliyasu, who brought the matter before a Senior District Court in Lafia.

The judge, Abdullah M. Lanze, gave the ruling on July 3, 2025. Bello is now barred from making statements or taking actions as the party chairman. He is also not allowed to perform any duties linked to the office until the court hears the main case.

The case started when Iliyasu filed a motion supported by a written statement from Blessing Emmanuel Ayaka, who works with the law firm J.J. Gbaja and Associates. The court agreed with the arguments and approved the request to stop Bello from acting in any official capacity.

Aliyu Bello is not the only one affected. The court order also applies to anyone acting on his behalf. This means no one can issue statements or perform duties in his name as APC chairman.
