Ogunsakin stated that the former governor has done so much for the stability of the party and, therefore, did not deserve the kind of treatment meted out to him.

He stated, “If not for people like His Excellency (Fayose), many young people who are gradually becoming the face of the party would not be anywhere near the party much less politics. My boss has mentored and given many young people in Ekiti State and beyond a wing to fly and they will not fold their arms and watch some unscrupulous individuals within the party to rubbish his personality and the legacies he worked so hard over the years to build.”

Ogunsakin stated further; “While I call on the leadership of our dear party to caution the mischief-makers and take steps to avert a reocurrence, it is pertinent to equally ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others with such barbaric intention.”

The former Ado-Ekiti Local Government chairman appealed to youths in Ekiti State, especially those of the PDP extraction to remain calm, adding, “I have gotten so many calls and I understand the grouse of our youths but I appeal to them to let us see how the party leadership at the national level will handle this unfortunate incident. I believe justice shall be served.

“I want to equally assure our father, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose that we are solidly behind his leadership and will not let him down at any point in time.”
