The source said the movement of Governor El-Rufai to Lagos as well as his admission at the Military Hospital was made secret for security reason.

The source did not however disclosed in which of the Military Hospitals they are being attended to.

El-Rufai, had announced on Saturday that he tested positive for coronavirus.

The governor, who disclosed this in a video on Twitter, said he had embarked on self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control for anyone not showing symptoms.

Nothing has been heard from the governor since then.

Also, Abba Kyari, was moved to Lagos in Air ambulance on Monday, for further treatment for COVID-19.

Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, had said he does not know the location of the Chief of Staff in Lagos.

Kyari, who tested positive for coronavirus last week, in a statement on Sunday, said he would be in Lagos on Monday for “further tests and observations”.

Abayomi said, “I’m not aware of the Chief of Staff’s itinerary, so I don’t know where he is, we chat on WhatsApp but I cannot tell where he is from our chat.

“We are exchanging information but I haven’t asked him for his location. He seems well and happy and we are exchanging information on strategic issues. It has been a long time we talked about his health, I presume he has made a full recovery.”

Also yesterday, the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, refused to disclose the location of the President’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, who has been infected by COVID-19.

Responding to a question during the Presidential task force briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, the health minister said Kyari’s location was not important, adding that the President’s chief of staff had a right to privacy.

However, TheCable quoted a family member to the Chief of Staff as saying that he was getting better.

“Since the diagnosis, he has had the occasional cough, which, though not chesty, remained stubborn, hence his decision to transfer to a private facility in Lagos for further tests and observations.

“Up till now, he has had no high fever or difficulty in breathing, and the cough is subsiding after treatment, so he is making good progress. The doctors want him to sleep and rest more for now, so they took his phones away but he is stable and improving,” a family member told TheCable on Thursday, April 2.
