Ekiti PDP Chairmanship: Ekiti Central Senatorial Elders endorse Bisi Kolawole

Contest for the Chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, on Sunday took a new twist as a former governor of the State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose and Elders of the the party in Ekiti Central Senatorial District endorsed the aspiration of a former Commissioner for Environment and former member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Kolawole.
The endorsement which took place at a well attended meeting of Elders in the six LGAs that constitute Ekiti Central Senatorial District held at Efon Alaaye Sunday evening. The meeting had in attendance a former deputy governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, former commissioners under the Ayodele Fayose administration, former House of Assembly members, former local government chairmen amongst other leaders.
Former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose while addressing the gathering thanked the Elders of the constituency for not letting down the party. He commended former chairmen and former House of Assembly members for refusing to jump the ship for a pot of porridge adding that posterity will judge them right.
The two term governor said has forgiven those who offended him, thus has no axe to grind with anyone in the party as he asks for forgiveness of those he might have wronged while in office as well for the umpteenth time. He charged all members of the party to remain united and stay away from campaign of calumny even as they pursue their interests within the party.
The event saw the elders led by Baba Ologbo from Efon and Alhaji Alaketu from Ado Ekiti pray for the success of Hon. Bisi Kolawole’s PDP Chairmanship aspiration with the promise to ensure his emergence as the PDP Chairman in Ekiti State.
Reacting to his endorsement by the elders, Hon Bisi Kolawole who said he has toured eleven LG campaigning before he could convince Fayose to support him affirmed that the endorsement of the former governor and elders of the district is a boost indescribable.
He thanked Elders across the six LGAs that constitutes Ekiti Central Senatorial District for standing by him stressing that the journey for his chairmanship aspiration started in Ado. He further thanked the entire leadership of Ado Ekiti PDP for making his aspiration their project.
Promising to be fair to all party men and a chairman for all when voted into office, the former Commissioner for Environment said he’s not known for betraying or backstabbing people and he will not start doing that at over sixty years of age.
