The emergency wailing of Bola Tinubu

All may not be rossy any longer with the political relationship between the former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his friend, President Buhari.
Recall that some days ago, President Buhari at a public function, refused to have a hand shake with Tinubu’s wife, an action that sparked an outrage on social media, signaling that, there may be an issue bothering on power tussle between them.
In 2014, Senator Bola Tinubu, led a coalition of political parties, from North, West, East and South, that later gave birth to the ruling APC. Buhari, who had ran unsuccessfully three times on his own, without the ability to outperformed the then ruling party PDP, until Tinubu brought the coalition that led to a merger.
At the formation of the now ruling APC, prominent leaders across the country warned Tinubu of the danger of fielding Buhari as its presidential candidate, because of his unpalatable record of human rights violations and abuse of power during his military era, but all advises and warnings fell on the deaf ears of Tinubu and his political colleagues, who wanted to graduate from regional politics to National politics.
Recently, Tinubu and his South West men in Buhari’s government are being kicked out one by one, replacing them with people of core Hausa Fulani extractions. In fact, this was vividly captured in one of the publications of Bola Tinubu’s The Nation Newspapers.
The onslaught started, when it appeared that Tinubu showed interest in running for the 2023 Presidential election, although he has denied it at several occasions, however, those closer to him have not stopped in setting up campaign structures here and there on his behalf.
The rumoured third term bid of President Buhari, is still not going away, because of how he has been dismantling those who appears to be oppositions to him, but what is not clear now is, whether the President will go against his promise of not running in 2023, or planning to hand over to another candidate from Northern extractions.
President Buhari, who promised not to influence electoral victory for any candidate in 2023, is also being asked by Northern youth group, to cut all his ties with Tinubu, insisting that, power must be retained in the North after Buhari.
The political body heating from both Buhari and Tinubu has culminated into tactical media war, where major newspapers, including the one owned by Tinubu have started hitting the President on his shortcomings.

The Nation has profiled how the President, handed over majority of the vital positions in government to Northerners, and also dwelled on his record of human rights abuses and lawlessness. This is a clear indication that, all is not well in the camp of the APC.
Nigerians suspected a foul play, when Punch Newspapers, woke up on Monday morning and decided that henceforth, Buhari will now be addressed as a Major General, which is referring the President as a tyrant and law breaker, those Behind the media war could not hide their hands and it began to clearly show, when the Nation Newspapers fired their own salvos in the direction of the President.
Bola Tinubu is being mocked by Nigerians as a wailer, especially by those in the oppositions, who warned that, it was not enough to enthrone Buhari to power through APC, because, the damage he will do, will even be more greater than the opposition they want to dislodged from power.
The question many are asking now is that, how far can media attacks impact on Buhari’s government, when majority of Nigerians have seen clearly that Tinubu is only fighting for his own political survival and not for Nigerians.
A Nigeria Baron Roy wrote: I don’t even want to refer to Mr. Tinubu as a fool but is there any other way to describe his colossal stupidity? We wrote countless articles, sent messages via back-channels, pleaded with and admonished the so-called Maestro of Oduduwa politics to align with the aspirations of Southern Nigeria. As many times as we pleaded, the gentleman turned us down. He was sold on his obviously unrealistic ambitions and refused to understand that the Caliphate is a different ballgame whom no one ought to dine with…long spoon or not!
I reckon that Mr. Tinubu was the ONLY one that refused to understand that his actions would end in tears! He swatted opinions like irritable flies and rode roughshod over the rest of us with the Tyrannosaurus! Now, he’s been prepared for dinner…and they must have him for dinner!
Why such a man, thought to be so sagacious, could be so stupid, is a phenomenon that ought to be studied by Research Centres! Mr. Tinubu fed and nurtured a lizard, now it has grown into a fire-spitting dragon, determined to feast on its keeper!
Let the Tyrannosaurus enjoy its meal, biko!
