Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have ambushed troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at Ugundiri village, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State, killing 10 soldiers and seven civilians.

The troops were attacked at about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday in the remote village of Talala in Damboa local government area on the Borno State-Yobe State border.

The troops carrying out clearance operations on suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts in Talala and Ajigin, southern part of Borno State, were returning to base when they were attacked.
