President Bola Tinubu has ended his working vacation in France and departed Paris for Lagos, where he is expected to meet political leaders and associates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The President’s aircraft is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos later on Tuesday, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation. He initially spent about a week in London before travelling to Paris, France.
The Presidency said the President decided to return to Lagos first in order to honour the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, who won the June 12, 1993 presidential election and played a prominent role in Nigeria’s democratic history.
As part of activities planned for Independence Day on October 1, Tinubu is expected to attend the premiere of a film celebrating Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.
During his stay in Lagos, the President is also expected to hold meetings with political leaders and associates as part of preparations for the 2027 elections.

Tinubu also held discussions with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose interests in the media and digital sectors include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.
On Monday, the President met with businessman Femi Otedola, Chairman of First Holdings.
Last week, Tinubu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a deep seaport in Ogun Waterside and the establishment of a Blue Marine Economic Zone.
The Presidency said DP World, a major global ports and logistics operator, plans to invest $7 billion in the proposed seaport and economic zone.
After completing his engagements in Lagos, Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja.
