The names of 37 suspected illegal miners who reportedly died while in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State have been released.

The development comes amid investigations into the deaths, with the NSCDC arresting and parading 24 personnel, including the Niger State Commandant, Commandant Subaru Siyaka Aniviye, over the incident.
