Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has vowed not to forgive the All Progressives Congress (APC) over what he described as attacks against his family during a difficult period.

Bashir said that even if his father eventually emerged from his current ordeal and chose to forgive those he believes wronged the family, he would not take the same position.

In a post on X, Bashir said he would seek political power with the intention of confronting those he accused of targeting his family.
He said his resolve was driven by what he described as the treatment his family received from members of the APC when they were at their weakest.
Bashir added that his approach would not be limited by political alliances, saying both friends and opponents could face his opposition.

He, however, made an exception for Mahmud Ribadu, whom he described as his biological brother.
The statement comes amid an ongoing public disagreement between Bashir and his elder brother, Bello El-Rufai, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Bashir had earlier attacked Bello on social media over an undisclosed family disagreement and their differing political positions.
The wider family tension is unfolding against the backdrop of the political dispute between Nasir El-Rufai and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who were once political allies.
El-Rufai has also faced investigations by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged corruption during his tenure as Kaduna governor.
