Several suspected high-profile bandit leaders have allegedly been found inside the residence of a Nigerian senator.
A video shared on Saturday by Nigerian digital creator D English Alhaji purportedly shows the men inside the unidentified senator’s residence.
The identity of the senator was not revealed in the video or the accompanying post.
The men were reportedly seen displaying Nigerian passports, with one of the documents bearing the name Lawal Usman Shehu.
Their identities and the circumstances that led to their presence at the residence remain unclear.
The footage has also not been independently verified, and there is no confirmation that the individuals shown are wanted bandit leaders or terrorists.
No security agency had issued an official statement on the allegation as of the time of filing the report.
The development comes amid ongoing security concerns over banditry and other forms of violent crime in parts of Nigeria, with authorities continuing operations against armed groups and their suspected collaborators.
Further investigation and an official statement from the relevant security agencies would be required to establish the identities of the individuals shown in the video and determine why they were allegedly at the senator’s residence.
