FULL LIST: Tinubu Approves N438bn for Eight Road Projects

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the construction, rehabilitation and concession of major road projects valued at more than N438 billion across seven states.

The Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, disclosed this on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The approved projects cover Ekiti, Ogun, Rivers, Niger, Lagos, Oyo and Abia states and include road reconstruction, rehabilitation, operation and maintenance as well as the development of a trailer park under public-private partnership arrangements.

The largest allocation is N159.83 billion for the reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure–Osun border road in Ekiti State.

The council also approved N54.12 billion as a variation order for the rehabilitation of the Abeokuta–Iboro–Ilaro Road in Ogun State.

In Rivers State, N74.51 billion was approved for the reconstruction of the 15-kilometre Port Harcourt–Eleme Junction–Onne Port Junction section of the East-West Road.

Another N54.52 billion was approved for Phase II of the rehabilitation of the Ado-Ekiti–Afe Babalola University Road in Ekiti State. The road forms part of the Ado–Ijan–Iluomobi–Imesi–Ondo border route.

The government also approved N94.24 billion for the construction of the Ilara–Iselu Road, covering Phases II to V, in Ogun State.

Under the highway and trailer park concession programme, the Federal Executive Council approved N56.75 billion for the development of the 7.9-kilometre Dikko–Maje section of the Suleja–Minna Road in Niger State.

The Lagos–Ibadan Expressway was also included in the approvals, with N96.43 billion earmarked for its operation and maintenance.

In Abia State, the council approved N19.70 billion for the development of a new trailer park at Aro-Ngwa.

The latest approvals are part of the Federal Government’s ongoing investment in road infrastructure and transport facilities across the country, with the projects expected to improve movement of people and goods and support commercial activities along the affected routes.
