Governor Adeleke Casts Vote in Ede

Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has voted in the ongoing governorship election in the state.

Adeleke arrived at Polling Unit 009, Ward 02, Abogunde Compound, in Ede North Local Government Area, at about 8:10 a.m. and cast his ballot.

There was an early turnout of voters in Ede, the governor’s hometown, as well as in parts of Ilesha and Osogbo, with residents arriving at polling units to participate in the election.

In Ede, some voters were at their polling units as early as 6:40 a.m. Vehicles were also seen transporting voters and National Youth Service Corps members to different locations ahead of the commencement of voting.

Security operatives were deployed across Ede North and Ede South local government areas as part of measures to maintain order during the election. Checkpoints were also mounted in line with the restriction on vehicular movement announced for the poll.

Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were stationed at several polling units before the arrival of Independent National Electoral Commission officials and election materials.

Local election observers were also present at some polling units to monitor preparations and the voting process.

Accreditation and voting had commenced at some locations, while INEC officials were yet to display the register of eligible voters at some other polling units visited.

Voters also turned out early in other parts of the state, including Ilesha and Osogbo, as the electorate participated in the election to determine who will govern Osun State.
