Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the arrival of top All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and several party governors in Osogbo ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and several APC governors arrived in the state for the party’s campaign mega rally as the ruling party intensifies efforts to win the August 15 election.

Among the governors reported to have arrived in Osogbo are Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

Former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, welcomed the APC leaders to the state in a post on X.

Davido, who is a nephew of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, responded to Oyetola’s post by dismissing the possibility of an APC victory in the election.
The singer mocked the large turnout of APC leaders and governors, saying that bringing more prominent figures into Osun would not change the expected outcome of the election.
Davido said that even if the APC brought the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ to campaign in the state, the party would still lose the election for a third consecutive time.
Governor Adeleke is seeking another term in office under the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party.
The August 15 election has generated intense political activity, with the APC and other major parties deploying their national leaders, governors and supporters to Osun in the final days before voters head to the polls.
