Air Peace flight operations have been disrupted nationwide after members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) reportedly shut down the airline’s terminals across the country.

The industrial action affected operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where an Air Peace flight scheduled to depart at 6:30 a.m. was unable to take off.

The disruption was reportedly linked to a protest by union members working with the airline, leaving passengers stranded and causing delays to scheduled flights.

The situation was also reported at other airports across the country, with Air Peace passengers unable to proceed with some scheduled journeys.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu, confirmed that the disruption was union-related.

Some affected passengers took to social media to express frustration over the disruption. One passenger said he was stranded at the Lagos airport while trying to travel to Abuja for a morning appointment.
The protest has consequently disrupted Air Peace’s nationwide flight schedule, with passengers forced to wait for further information on the resumption of operations.
As of the time of filing the report, the management of Air Peace had not issued an official statement on the development.
It was also unclear whether the industrial action had affected the operations of other airlines operating from Nigerian airports.
